The Rewire Lab is part of MetroHealth Medical Center and the Case Western Reserve University Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Biomedical Engineering. Our mission is to improve the well-being of those affected by neurological injury via technology, including robotics, biomechanics and neurophysiology.
Current Research
Post-stroke gait
Independent mobility is critical to quality of life. Our goal is to develop thorough, multimodal assessments that produce targeted, precision interventions for those with walking problems after sustaining a stroke.

Project WHEELS
Motivating kids and caregivers for therapy is hard. The aim of this project is to use the modified ride-on car platform to motivate kids to reach, grasp, socialize, interact and move.
This project is co-led by Dr. Mike Fu, PhD (ECE CWRU)
Metro Cafe
We expect that therapy can be more than the sum of its parts. By creating a functional, enriched environment, we aim to change how therapy can be delivered.
This project is Co-led by Dr. Cole Galloway, PT, PhD (Baylor University)
United Cerebral Palsy
United Cerebal Palsy is a national organization dedicated to the lifelong inclusion of those with cerebral palsy and related disabilities. Dr. Sulzer is on their National Research Committee.
Community Engagement
RePlay For Kids
Rewire members participate with a local non-profit, RePlay for Kids. RePlay adapts, repairs and donates adapitve toys to disabled children that need them. Dr. Sulzer is a member of their Board of Directors.
